What is Closet Therapy?
Closet Therapy is a fun excursion into your wardrobe where you discover amazing possibilities, with the help of a professional. “Closet Therapy” is not just editing or organizing. It is an education, an enlightening experience, a treasure hunt.
What happens during Closet Therapy?
First we sit down and chat for a few minutes to get comfortable. Then we’re off to the closet where we decide the best place to start and the “trying on” begins!
- Does this item of clothing represent who you are now?
- How does it make you feel –happy, dowdy, sexy?
- What style is it? Does it accentuate your best features?
- Why is it working or not working for you?
We will:
- Remove the unflattering, the tired & worn, and organize the rest
- Look at the choices you have been making and why
- Clarify who you are and what message you want to send
- Define your Personal Style and the look you want
- Separate clothing into categories: give away, throw away, repurpose, alter
You will:
- Learn which shapes and styles suit you the best
- See which key garments are missing from your wardrobe
- Gain the knowledge to build stylish outfits for yourself
- Be given a Purchase List of items that will fill in the gaps & expand versatility
- Feel a sense of relief, direction, and confidence!
I will:
- Show you what to avoid and what to look for
- Show you HOW to dress to fit your personality, shape and lifestyle
- Use your existing wardrobe to create new and interesting outfits, incorporating shoes, accessories, and jewelry. (You will be amazed at how much of what you already have can be redesigned into fresh, updated looks!)
- Capture each outfit on digital camera for your Personal Lookbook
- And finally, you will receive an Individual Style Plan suggesting the steps and services needed to achieve your ultimate goals
What if I don’t like anything in my closet?
It is still helpful to have a short session to define what you have been doing, what you have, and what you need. We often discover a new way to use an item, and you like it again!
What if I am embarrassed about my closet?
Don’t let that stop you! There is no judgment or criticism. After 20 years I have seen every type of closet there is. Even if it’s a jumbled mess, cramped, or unorganized, there is always a way to glean valuable information and create a wardrobe that works.

FEE: $100/hour
